Medical Students

Qualitative Standard

Medical students do not have a GPA for the first two years of study (all courses are S/U). Students in their third and fourth year must maintain a 2.5 GPA.

Quantitative Standard

263 credit hours are the maximum number that can be attempted.

Percentage Completed

All students must complete 80% of the credits attempted toward the degree (including transfer hours accepted towards degree).Note: All coursework accepted toward the degree (including transfer credits accepted) is included in the attempted and completed calculations. This includes Withdrawals, Incompletes, and Repeated Courses. Remedial Coursework or ESOL courses are not counted in Attempted or Earned calculations.

Note on Withdrawal

All courses attempted, including any withdrawal after the end of Drop/Add, retroactive withdrawals, term withdrawals and medical withdrawals, will be considered for Satisfactory Progress. Hours will be counted as attempted but not completed.
