Federal Direct Stafford Loans
Effective Summer 2009: FSU will be processing all Stafford and PLUS loans through the Federal Direct Loan funding process.
Eligibility requirements: |

The student must be enrolled as a degree seeking student, at least half-time (six credit hours) per term of disbursement.

The student must maintain Satisfactory Progress requirements as established by FSU. Satisfactory Progress requirements are published online at http://financialaid.fsu.edu/sat.html
- Student and parent must both be either U.S. Citizens or eligible non-citizens (as defined by federal financial aid regulations).

Neither student nor parent may be in default on a Federal loan or owe repayment on a Federal grant.

Loan Process:
- Complete your FAFSA.

- After you are awarded, determine the amount you will need to borrow, after considering your expenses and your resources ( Aid, Income, etc...)
- Accept, Reduce, or Decline your loan offer as you need from your Student Tool Kit.
- Complete Loan Entrance Counseling.
- Complete a Master Promissory Note online
- Complete an Account Refund Statement online through Blackboard/Secure Apps to authorize FSU to disburse your funds either through electronic funds transfer to an FSUCard/SunTrust account or through check by mail to your local address on file with FSU.
